Voice to text technology for bloggers

guardian article here - "SpinVox to let bloggers send posts from street to screen"

Also on recent reports that Yahoo! have offered $1 billion for Bebo. They were rejected; as they were when they tried to buy facebook for a reported $1.6 billion. Why do you think Yahoo! is so keen to get its teeth into the social networking sites?

Because it will give them a platform to integrate there search portal into such as google have done with myspace, it will also give them a new audience to promote the products to as i would think that most bebo users are kids who would use google because its all they know

Social networking also probley the biggest growing phenomenon on the internet and is a gold mine for advertisers which would be usefull for yahoo as they have release there yahoo publisher network to provide a alternative to google adsense.

yahoo biding on bebo would seem like a good move as they could easily combine this into their own new social networking site 'mash'

Have you also heard Microsoft offering $44.6billion in cash and stock for yahoo! 62% premium on what the companies worth. Jerry and David
the 2 founders can walk away with extra 1 Billion over their current net worth

would also give m$ a combined 35% of the search engine/internet marketing share to googles 56% which is worth about 40billion

great postings st_jimi! you are well up to date...read about the big proposed microsoft buyout of yahoo! last night...Finally, Bill Gates is keen to give google a decent run for their money in the internet search engine stakes. It will be very hard for them given the google market penetration over the last few years. Yahoo! have nothing to lose though as their online profitability has been dwindling for some time now...lots of good engineers at yahoo! though, microsoft would be wise to keep them on board to provide realistic and worthy competition to the might of google...watch this space...googlezon is coming...

also - no doubt social networking is the fastest growing area of the net - just look at the rise and rise of facebook...big money there to be made... already the ad-men are targeting these sites with great tenacity...
